What We're About...
The Totally Locally idea was put together in 2010 by Chris Sands, an award-winning exert in banding and marketing, based in Hebdon Bridge in the North of England.
Once a group of keen individuals in Honiton heard about Totally Locally, they jumped at the chance to bring this gust of community spirit to their home town and Totally Locally was born.
Starting this project in 2020 (when businesses are looking for that extra life line they need) will hopefully bring a renewed sense of Local Spirit and support our High Street deserves.
Totally Locally is not funded, is not a big organisation and is not connected to any organisation or government initiative. It runs on the help, time and effort put in by everyone involved.
Who We Are...
I have family with a shopfront in Honiton, and I run a software company and know regular customers are lifeblood to small business. Our family has seen transformational Honiton first-hand as members and supporters at the Gymnastics Club. I am part of Greener Honiton and community organising, so suggested Totally Locally as a people-powered way to put £ millions back into Honiton as well as reduce carbon emissions from transport.
I moved around a lot when I was younger but since I moved to Honiton I’ve finally found a town where I want to stay. The sense of community here is really heart-warming and since I opened Kate Dixon Photography in 2019 I’ve been greeted with nothing but warm welcomes. I joined the Totally Locally Team because I wanted to do my part in helping the local businesses here and repay everyone’s kindness.
